HELPS was formed to create a “pool” of people that are willing to be available to serve for short term and urgent needs of the church and community. By having a large list of willing servants, we are able to take the burden off a few and on to many. We serve with meals to the house bound; “fix it” chores for the single women or others. We have people willing to do hospital or other visits, mechanics, movers and just about anything that comes up with an immediate and urgent need. We ask that our team have hearts of service and willingness to be available on short notice. Of course we see this as an outreach of our church body, so being a member or at least and active attendee is preferred. We will be holding training sessions in order for us to serve with sensitivity and wisdom.
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?'...The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whaterver you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
